MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE (MLD)

Carola Aust MICHT, MLLAUK-1

MLD is a type of gentle massage that is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph fluid from the body.

In this advanced therapy the therapist uses a collection of specialized and gentle rhythmic strokes, gliding and pumping techniques to move the lymph fluid in the direction of the lymph nodes. This stimulates the lymphatic system, so the lymph vessels can carry essential substances, important for the defense of the body to protect from illness and disease and removes waste products.

Your first visit will include a full consultation, after which the therapist will advise you a number, and frequency of future sessions.

Each treatment will last roughly one hour, for a part body MLD and up to two hours for a full MLD.
